Why is My Buyer Telling Me They Didn't Get a Call?
ANSWER: If you can, all calls to Buyers should be via SIP for speed and reliability)
The Issue is NOT a TrackDrive Issue
Consider this a Public Announcement
As you know, in Call Tracking Platforms, the Buyer (as we call it) and for Ringba, the Target, is called with the CallerID of the Consumer. Of course, no Platform trying to Call the Buyer with the Consumer's Caller ID owns that number. The Stir/Shaken Design was to handle that fine. They allowed for “Legal Spoofing” for this exact reason.
By FCC Stir/Shaken Standards, if you place a call with a number a VOIP provider rented you, they would sign the Stir/Shaken information as A-Level (this client has actually rented the number from us, so we are telling you that). When calling from the Consumer Number to Buyer, that would be a B-Level with our VOIP Provider saying the client didn't rent this DID from us, but we trust them.
MAIN ISSUE: So many VOIP Providers will sign B-Level like the should, but then many Companies that are Routing the Calls are super aggressive in trying to comply, and with newer technology they can tell it is spoofed and do one of many things that we have heard when we know a call is actually answered but your buyer is saying I didn't get that call:
- Endless Ringing
- Canned Voicemail Greetings (ex: Please leave a voicemail for …..)
- There are others as well, but now this is even happening on A-Level Attestation.
IN A NUTSHELL: It is not guaranteed that placing a call to a buyer will find the way to the buyer when dialing by DID!!!
THE SOLUTION: SEND CALLS TO BUYERS VIA SIP
(this is a living document, we will keep adding to this list)
Sending Calls to a TrackDrive Buyer:
Format: VALID_TD_NUMBER@sip.trackdrive.com
Example: Number giving to forward calls to TrackDrive: +18882349876. as SIP: +18882349876@sip.trackdrive.com
Notes: This is an Open SIP Endpoint that will only be answered if the Number is a valid TD Number, no IP or username/password credentials are required.
Sending Calls to a Ringba Buyer:
Format: sip:VALID_RINGBA_NUMBER@qeCpRfegq5Kefhp.sip.telnyx.com
Example: sip:18444861857@qeCpRfegq5Kefhp.sip.telnyx.com
Notes: The format of the number must have the 1 but no Plus Sign and the SIP ADDRESS is CASE SENSITIVE, watch out if pasting to someone in Skype or other places that make a LINK all lower case.
NOTE: ON TRACKDRIVE: For any Known Platforms that have given us a SIP Endpoint, you would just put in the number like normal as the buyer phone number and then select the appropriate Platform. We will manufacture the correct SIP format. This way if a SIP endpoint goes down or has to change, we can fix that on our Known Platform Configuration Table.
