Number Overview

What a Number Is

A Number in TrackDrive is a phone number the platform
controls. Numbers are tracking numbers assigned to
campaigns.

A Number carries provider metadata (Plivo, Twilio, Telnyx,
etc), geography (local or toll-free), attribution tokens,
and forwarding configuration. Numbers are the interface
between the public phone network and the internal call
routing pipeline.

Numbers Are Always Available for Routing

Number records are available platform-wide so that an
inbound call can be matched to its number immediately.

This matters because the only identifier available the
moment an inbound call rings is the dialed number itself;
the platform uses it to find the owning company and route
the call.

Toll-Free or Local

The platform distinguishes numbers as either toll-free
(800, 888, 877, etc.) or local. There is no further type
distinction between mobile, landline, and VoIP numbers.

Mobile-vs-landline classification is available from the
provider side via CNAM and LRN lookups, but it is not a
first-class column on Number.
