Getting Your Google Ads Integration Set Up on TrackDrive

Integrations

Before You Start

Use this guide when you are ready to connect Google Ads to TrackDrive and choose where tracked calls should be reported in Google Ads.

The Google click id must already be captured before the lead reaches TrackDrive. Most accounts store it in the default gclid token. The Google Ads integration uses that value when a tracked call on the matching offer finishes. You do not need to mark the call converted.

For a plain explanation of what happens after setup, see the "How the Google Ads Integration Works (After Setup)" article.

Step 1: Open the Google Ads Integration

Open Integrations. If you already have integrations, click Connect Integration to open the catalog. Click Install on Google Ads, or open it from the installed integrations list if Google Ads is already installed.

If the integration is not connected yet, TrackDrive shows Connect Your Google Account and the Connect My Google Account button.

Step 2: Connect Your Google Account

Click Connect My Google Account. Google will ask you to choose an account and approve the connection.

Choose the Google account that has access to the Google Ads customer account you want TrackDrive to use. After approval, Google returns you to TrackDrive.

If TrackDrive later says the integration is broken, use the Google account connection button on the page to connect again.

Step 3: Pick the Right Google Ads Account

After the Google account is connected, TrackDrive loads the Google Ads customer accounts that account can reach.

A Google Ads customer account is the advertiser account where conversions are reported. A manager (MCC) account is a parent account that can see child client accounts.

Conversion tracker rows are set up on client accounts, not manager accounts. If TrackDrive says the connected Google account only has manager account access, grant that Google account access to a client account or connect a Google account that already has client account access.

Step 4: Add a Conversion Tracker Row

In Configure Conversion Trackers, add one conversion tracker row for each offer-to-Google-Ads mapping you need.

Fill in these fields:

  • TrackDrive Offer: choose the offer whose tracked calls should be sent to Google Ads.
  • Google Click ID Token: choose the token that stores the Google click id. Most accounts use gclid.
  • Google Ads Customer: choose the client account that should receive the conversion.
  • Google Ads Conversion Tracker: choose the Google Ads conversion tracker that should receive the conversion.

To create a new conversion tracker from TrackDrive, turn on Add A New Conversion Tracker? and enter the new tracker name in Enter a new Conversion Tracker name.

If a purchase made after the call should reach Google Ads as its own conversion, also choose an existing conversion tracker in Google Ads Purchase Conversion Tracker. It must be different from the Google Ads Conversion Tracker. Leave it blank to report only the call. When it is set, the call conversion is sent with a value of 0 and the call revenue goes on the purchase. This field cannot create a new conversion tracker; create it in Google Ads first.

Step 5: Add More Rows if Needed

Click Add Another Conversion Tracker when another offer, Google Ads customer account, or conversion tracker needs its own setup.

Each row is checked separately. A tracked call is sent through the row that matches the call's Trackdrive offer and token settings.

Step 6: Save and Check a Test Call

Save the integration.

To check the setup, place a test call through the offer with a known Google click id value and let the call finish. Finishing the matching call triggers the upload; you do not need to mark the call converted. The call log should show that a Google Ads offline conversion is waiting before submission.

If the call log says the Google click id token is blank, check the page or lead flow that is supposed to capture the gclid before the lead reaches TrackDrive.
